Summer Vaccation

Summer Vacation is over and its been a month since the school reopened. Now I am in 5th std and in new block. However new the block may be, I hate going to school. I enjoy Art workshops and during the summer vacation I attended workshops in India and Singapore. I learned making greeting cards at Craffers Paradise, Singapore. I made a card for my Mummy (as she could not come with me) and she considers it a precious gift.

My New Works

Dear Friends,

It's been a long time..that I uploaded something on my blog...Yday I was trying my hands on some different mediums and techniques. My dad got me some color chalks made in Thai from the Thailand Exhibition in Chennai, which is said to be dust free and I was very excited.

The immediate thing I did was to take a Slate and draw on it. I like Power Puff Girls and I drew that. This medium is interesting.. my Dad says we can use that to draw on floor in Roads etc., as the road side artist do..it is an appreciated art in foreign countries..but here people use that art to beg..sad...

Then the below picture is a landscape painting combining two techniques. One is masking and the other is spray painting. I masked the area of images using a masking tape and then used a tooth brush to spray the unmasked area.. after a while I removed the masking tape and painted the image area..it has come out fairly well, but the tape medium was not a right choice.. I prefer rubber solution instead of tape...

On-line Competition Prizes

Hi Friends,

It has been long time that I posted some news. Today I am going to write about On-line competition and my prize winning entries. Artshowforkids is a website which hosts online competition for kids and sells the works of child artists. I have been participating in this for the past one year and 3 of my paintings have won prizes.

My painting titled 'Climate Change' won the 1st prize. This is a digital drawing to convey message to reduce pollution. I recommend using eco-friendly fuel (made out of natural things, like bio-diesel etc) which will help reducing polluting smokes, thus reduce Global Warming.

My Painting titled 'Save Trees' also won 1st prize recently. This is also a digital drawing again on Global Warming. Cutting down trees contributes to Climate Change and thus affecting the rain fall, here I wish to request the man kind to save tress.

My other painting titled 'Mother and Child' for the theme 'A Greener Safer Planet' won 3rd prize. This is a feather-craft which has an image of a Happy Mother & Child living in a greener safer environment.

for more details you may check the Ended Public Art show column in www.artshowforkids.com.

I also wish to inform that on 8th july, 2009 my interview in Sun T.V was telecasted for a program 'Saadhikka pirandhom' (born to achieve). I will soon post it in you tube for you to watch.

Feather Art

My Dear Friends and Well Wishers,

Art is my passion and I wish to explore all facets of art. Hence I try different medium from Painting to Installation. I have a penchant for Installation and sculpting, the forth coming page will have pictures about my craft works, sculpting and installations. Whatever I look at has an artistic form in it and so I keep making collage, shapes, characters out of it. When I am at a dinning table in a hotel too, my eyes look for forms and colors. The Plate becomes the face and the fork & spoons take the form of a stick figure for torso... The napkin is made to a dog's face.. There has not been a single day that I resisted myself from creating a piece of art... "from a small bit of rags to a big marble stone, nothing can escape through her hands... they will be reborn" - quotes my mom....

Below is the installation pics and video
