Gathering at Art World
The 2nd happy moment was a gathering at Art World which witnessed the launch of eminent aritst Surya Prakash's book. Senior Artists Mr. Gopinath, R. Bhaskaran, Ms. Asma Menon and many others were present there. The book was released by the Deputy Consul General for U.S. Consulate Mr. Axel Saurer.
Gopinath Uncle commented that I have grown up after he met me few years before. Surya Prakash Uncle also remembered seeing me at the age of 5 at the Taj Hotel Auction. Media friends were eager to know what is my next project.
My Dad mentioned about my Animation film to Mr. Saurer. Mrs. and Mr. Saurer were very humble and they appreciated this effort very much. Bhaskaran Uncle also appreciated me for having made this film for Ustadji. Daruwala Uncle and Sarla Aunty were so kind and caring for me.
I was surrounded by blessings and Love from senior people which made me feel very happy.
My Animation Film
Hi Friends,
Wish you all a very Happy New Year. Its been quite a while I updated my blog (because my mom was busy ;) ).
Though delayed I have very very happy moments to be updated. One is the meeting with my beloved Ustadji and the other with eminent art personalities in Art World.
On 23rd Jan, Zakirji came down for a performance sharing the stage with Pandit ShivKumar Sharma. This time I had a big surprise for him. He entered the Music Academy in a private cab and smiled at me from the Car. While he got down we exchanged fist folded 'hi' and my mom gave him a DVD titled 'Rhythmic Wings' to which exclaimed with happiness. Yes it is a one minute short animation film made by me as a tribute to him. He appreciated me and took the DVD with joy and has autographed the release board saying "thank you varuna for this DVD".
His hugs are always full of Love and his blessings are divine. Thank you Uncle.
An one minute short film by S. Varuna (Character Creation, Drawing, Story Board, Color Scheme, Music Selection and Animation Supervision)
Synopsis:
Butterfly is a symbol of freedom for most of us. Any heart would go loosing to its colors, beauty and fluttering wings. Here is an imagination how a butterfly would flap its wings, if there was music around it, would it be just fluttering or will it be a dance. Rhythmic Wings is a short film on a butterfly dancing to the tunes of Ustad Zakir Hussain. I have chosen Zakir’s track as I love his music very much. I have seen his fingers dancing on Tabla during concerts and I wish to pay tribute to him and his music through this film
Scene:
A butterfly dancing in different moves to Zakir’s music and towards theend a flock of butterfly join as one and the entire garden becomes a dance floor.
